n.a. (n.d). Social Psychological Theories: Addler, Fromm, Horney, Sullivan.
The first article focuses on the social psychological theories. The existence and prosperity of man find its development from the interaction with the natural environment. The article provides a deeper comprehension of the relationship between personality and society around man. Man develops a specific personality because of the interactions with the members of the society. The article provides information about the history of psychology towards comprehending the personality of man. It begins with the psychoanalytic theory provided by Sigmund Freud and its drawbacks. The psychoanalytic theory is seen to base its explanation on sexual needs which is not the case for the other theories by Adler, From, Horney, and Sullivan. The study uses different members of the society to provide a deeper comprehension of the area of interest.
Concerning the social psychological theories, the social environment serves as the building block for the situation. The four theories have created a significant investment on the connection between social dimensions and personality (n.a, n.d). Social dimensions are seen to be superior to biological dimensions. Eric Fromm focuses on the dynamics of a specific society that influence a specific character due to existing needs and values. Karen Horney dwells upon intimate factors that shape personality. Sullivan has the same approach as the perception of Horney. Sullivan provides information about the early development of man. He talks of the developmental stages as critical in influencing personality.
Weaver, Y. (2009). Mid-life–a time of crisis or new possibilities?.Existential Analysis: Journal of the Society for Existential Analysis, 20(1), 1-11.
Weaver (2009) presents a clear data on the relationship between knowledge of our environments, our behavioral maturity, and emotional development. The discussion occurs on the perception regarding the mid-life crisis that acts as an emotional state focusing on doubt and anxiety. The article provides reasons for individuals becoming uncomfortable when they realize that their life is somehow half over. The midlife crisis is a phase in life with stress and depression and includes re-evaluation and reflection of achievements made by individuals during their entire life. The mid-life crisis occurs from 35 to fo years and may last more than ten years depending on the personality of an individual. Freud is the centerpiece of the article.
The article contrasts the perception of Sigmund Freud on the middle age. It also looks into the work of individuation by Carl Jung. Roger’s study on personal growth and the Frankl’s idea regarding means are also significant components in influencing a deeper comprehension of the middle age. The explanations created by Peck and Erickson’s are also made to ensure relevance of the middle period in lifespan development. As per the data derived from the article, it is crucial to present arguments that make sense about the thinking and behavior of individuals in the middle age. The article tries to explain that the middle age should not be seen as a point of crisis rather than a normal period that individuals have to go through in life.
Scaturo, D. (1995). Transference, countertransference, and resistance: Unconscious determinants of dilemmas. American Psychological Association, 1-18.
Emotional development and maintenance serve as the backbone of transference, countertransference, and resistance when it comes to the application of therapy. A patient depicts a specific moving background towards a therapist that may determine the methods that need employment in such a situation. A therapist may show a reaction towards the patient. This is known as countertransference. It is meant to comprehend the issues surrounding a patient and developing a positive way forward. Resistance revolves around the opposite force that is against the two topics discussed above that develops from the psychotherapeutic model used between a patient and a therapy. Transference may exist as a way through which an individual likes to protect his/her inner feelings. It depends on the concept of personal relationships with the therapy to initiate positive developments.
Clinical dilemmas are created when the patient fails to believe in the successful development of a therapeutic framework (Scaturo, 1995). Such an individual may find it hard to talk unless one gets used to the therapist. However, countertransference allows both the patient and the therapist to communicate without a problem and come to an understanding of possible ways to assist each other. The situation influences the development of resistance which has a relation to the process of therapy which is given to the patient for a positive outcome of mental health. Therefore, it is essential to look at the three issues raised by the articles as they are instrumental in developing a well-defined treatment method.

For this assignment, research an environmental factor that poses a threat to the health or safety of infants and develop a health promotion that can be presented to caregivers.
Create a 10-12 slide PowerPoint health promotion, with speaker notes, that outlines a teaching plan. For the presentation of your PowerPoint, use Loom to create a voice over or a video. Include an additional slide for the Loom link at the beginning, and an additional slide for references at the end.
Include the following in your presentation:

Offer recommendations on accident prevention and safety promotion as they relate to the selected environmental factor and the health or safety of infants.
Offer examples, interventions, and suggestions from evidence-based research. At least three scholarly resources are required. Two of the three resources must be peer-reviewed and no more than 6 years old.
Provide readers with two community resources, a national resource, and a Web-based resource. Include a brief description and contact information for each resource.
In developing your PowerPoint, take into consideration the health care literacy level of your target audience, as well as the demographic of the caregiver/patient (socioeconomic level, language, culture, and any other relevant characteristic of the caregiver) for which the presentation is tailored
