Assessment 2: Individual Essay (20%)
Topic: ‘Critically discuss the statement that women in senior roles drive Corporate Social Responsibility’
Due date: Tuesday 2nd April (Week 6) at 4pm via Turnitin. If you wish, you may submit your assignment earlier. Note on extensions: No extensions will be granted. Late tasks will be accepted up to 72 hours (3 days) after the submission deadline. There will be a deduction of 10% for late submissions for each 24 hour period or part thereof that the submission is late (for example, 25 hours late in submission – 20% penalty). This means the total mark will be deducted 2 marks per day. This penalty does not apply for cases in which an application for Special Considerations is made and approved.
Late assignments must be submitted online (Turnitin). Do not email your essay to your tutor.
Length and presentation: The essay length is 1,500 words (includes in-text references), excluding the reference list. Include the word count at the end of the essay. Use 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm margins on top, bottom and on each side, Times New Roman font size 12. Your essay must reference a minimum of 10 academic, peer reviewed articles. Do not use colour printing, formatting templates, plastic, fancy or bound covers when submitting your essay. Do not include an executive summary, abstract, footnotes or endnotes. Marks will be deducted for violations of these presentation rules.
Writing style: The essay should be written in formal academic narrative style. The essay will be evaluated for discriminatory language, clarity of expression and overall presentation including grammar, spelling and punctuation. You may not use bullet points or bracketed comments. Essays must be fully and appropriately referenced using APA referencing. Substantial marks will be deducted for inadequate or incorrect referencing. Feedback: Marks and feedback will be given in class after the mid-semester break.
